also just fyi (and to be more constructive) i would have advocated for some sort of demo available at this point with limited units and a scenario deathmatch-sorta map but given how many sins modders have an affinity for "borrowing" other people's assets without permission and the risk of a bunch of our gameplay mechanics getting ripped off that would probably be a bad idea.

we want to at least put out a full release so that people are more interested in playing the mod as it was intended (with all its neat features), whereas a demo would be like a few hours of playtime before somebody decided to import the soviets into some sort of UFOs vs Halo vs Stargate vs Space Communists Epic Mod. it would also mean more time would have to be put into ultimately secondary endeavors (like polishing the UI) over tweaking and balancing existing full-version gameplay.

if you want to read more on why the delay has happened go to moddb, i made a comment there a few days ago. there's really a crazy amount of stuff happening behind the scenes, I am making sure of that, and most of it just isn't stuff you can take screenshots of. maybe make long journal posts about, but not screenshots. you just have to play it, and so we're playing it.

'borrowing' stuff without permission.

Sad, sad truth I fear.

Demo would have been nice, but I think a full release ( despite the wait ) would be a billion times better. Demo loses the shock factor and uniqueness

Expanding on what Carbon said you shouldn't think that a lack of news means a lack of work being done on the mod. Carbon had done some amazing work in substantially changing the gameplay of sins, but unfortunately it just doesn't lend itself well to news posts. We can't post "here is some text and numbers representing our new planetary invasion mechanic' and expect people to get excited.

I, for one, know better and wait. Because life teaches that good comes always silently and usually without you knowing it.

I really hope that your statement will statisfy the eager followers of this mod Swiss. Other than that, after what Hydrocarbon said about "borrowing without permission" in the sins modding community, I now fully understand why there won't be any "demo" (not that I understood it earlier, I knew there was a good reason, I just couldn't put my finger on it) other than a neat picture or sweet video containing new features that will be in the mod

Looking forward for this mod. At the moment it's probaly the most interesting and awesome-sounding at the moment (and for a while). Despite all the naysayers who expect the modders to provide them new media couple of times a week.

To simply put it: Your mod is badass

Its better to wait and get the full and complete awesomeness that will be this mod, than get release after release of ultimately really crap modifications... (example.. the Pirates Mod for Homeworld 2). Still Keep up the work, what you have so far is pretty darn amazing.
