Originally a Star Wars: Empire at War mod, Dawn of Victory has evolved into its own vast universe with a storyline spanning centuries. From the First Scinfaxi War's interruption of World War Two in uniting Earth against a hostile alien foe, to the eventual skirmishes between the Greater German Reich, the Soviet Union, and the Democratic Federation, which would again be aborted to fend off the invaders.
The almost finalized storyline of Dawn of Victory came together in 2006 as the basis of the Empire at War mod. However the engine was soon found to be too restrictive and unfitting for the strategic depth required of DoV, thus development was moved over to Sins of a Solar Empire. A spin-off mod, Dawn of Victory: Theater of War, was also created for Galactic Civilizations II in this time. A centralized Wiki provides the universe with an extensive and growing backstory, partially sculpted by fans of the mod.
The team behind Dawn of Victory is made up entirely of volunteers. All of us have our roots in the modding community, contributing to such mods as Halogen, Ace Combat Distant Thunder, Blitzkrieg II, and Asylum.
Our team members have been involved with a number of different community events, including the Zombie Defense League, the World Domination Games, and Project Death Star.
We all have different reasons behind working on the project, but we all share a love of gaming, and the drive to create a brand new, and exciting experience with Dawn of Victory.
