Overview
The Democratic Federation, officially known as the Democratic Federation of United Worlds, is an international organization for collective security. Established in 1977 out of the London Accords, it has since grown into one of the most powerful human alliances, and unites the largest, most modern, and efficient military capabilities in the Brittania sector.
Purpose
"The Parties agree that an armed attack against one or more of them in their respective territories shall be considered an attack against them all. Consequently they agree that, if such an armed attack occurs, each of them, in exercise of the right of individual or collective self-defense recognized by Article 5 of the Charter of the Democratic Federation, will assist the Party or Parties so attacked by taking forthwith, individually and in concert with the other Parties, such action as it deems necessary, including the use of armed force, to restore and maintain the security of the Eastern Fringe area."

With the absorption of Western Europe into the Greater German Reich, and the remnants of China, Mongolia, and Eastern Europe becoming Soviet Satellite States, the remaining free nations of the world united under their common beliefs and values. As these nations grew closer together, so did their economies and militaries. While still independent nations, their involvement in the Democratic Federation became a necessity to ensure they could advance as quickly as the other superpowers.
The fruits of their collective labor were realized in 2088 when they created the first faster then light engine. Soon after the Democratic Federation drafted the Colonial Bill of Rights, its most notable part being the Freedom of Expansion Over the course of the next century, they used this technology to branch out into the planets and star systems surrounding Earth. Today a dozen different nations make up the Democratic Federation, all equally represented on the shared planet of Liberty.

This is the supreme authority in the Democratic Federation. It is made up of the Joint Governing Councils on the national level and together they manage to maintain Federation unity, commerce and other federal matters through the highest organization in the Democratic Federation.
Each member is elected from the National level and the Federation level members have all at one time served on each level of the Federation Government.

For each individual nation that makes up the Democratic Federation, there is a Joint Governing Council, the most notable are the following:
- Joint Governing Council-United States of America
- Joint Governing Council-Anglo-Canadian Kingdom
- Joint Governing Council-French Republic
- Joint Governing Council-Federation of Oceania
- Joint Governing Council-Andrean Republic of America
Each is an entity separate from one another, while also being separate from each individual Nations ruling authority. For example the JGC-USA is not the same as the traditional United States Government(Congress, Senate, etc.), but rather its own branch. Each member of every council is elected on the planetary level and has an equal voice on the National level.
Each member nation of the Democratic Federation is responsible for electing its one of it members to move up and serve on the Federation level.
Colonial Executive

The individual planetary governments, which is the lowest form of the Democratic Federation, has power pertaining only to the system in which the planet lies. It has almost no say on the National level, and hardly none on the Federation level.
The most power that Colonial Executive gives a planet is the right to appoint a member to the National Level Joint Governing Council.

The Democratic Federation Peacekeeping Forces are largely enforcement troops, charged with preserving peace and order in volatile war zones under Democratic Federal authority. They are largely equipped with hardware donated from conventional armies within the Federation. Besides their 'peacekeeper' status, they maintain a 'National Guard' mentality of volunteer soldiers, believing themselves to be the last line of defense against Fascism and Communism.
A unified armed service, the Democratic Federation Navy draws its strength from donated member units reformed into a centralized command structure and order of battle. Its carrier doctrine emphasizes upon aerospace superiority with strike fighters and interdiction of enemy warships using multipurpose cruisers and frigates, the evolution of Allied post-First Scinfaxi War doctrine.
Made from the combined power of the United States Marine Corps, the Royal Marines and the Andrean Special Forces, the Joint Expeditionary Marine Corps is the principle combined arms military force of the Democratic Federation expected to conduct war on a planet's surface. It fields combined arms battle groups of ground, aerospace and air mobile troops, easily the most mobile heavily armed human force within the Orion Region.
The Joint Operation Special Forces are the top secret arm of the Allied forces. They are comprised of elite soldiers from across the federation, their manpower is currently unknown, but what is known about them is that they are deployed to hot spots around the Orion Arm, they are considered fire and forget tools by the Joint Governing Council-Liberty, while methods of extraction is always in place, missions are set up in a way so that the Democratic Federation can not be held responsible in the event of capture, or mission failure. Officially they don't exist
