A break away state from the GGR which has dangerously close relations with the Soviet Union. It has large manufacturing capabilities which it uses to process huge amounts of Soviet steel for export.

History
Formed by Germans who did not agree with the GGR's racism, they were a rebel faction on Earth. Using the DF's colonisation program, they managed to control Vega's largest continent, New Pangea. The GGR was soon aware that a rebel faction existed on Vega, so they sent "ambassadors" to the planet.
Taking control of the continent's government, the Imperium of Deutschland slowly became a puppet state of the GGR. The radical democratic sympathisers who were not wooed by the GGR, however, moved onto the small continent on the Northeast of New Pangea, founding the Free Weimar Republic, named after their continent.
The Imperium, however, did not recognise the existence of the Free Weimar Republic, and tried to invade it several times. The Imperium could have easily crushed the "rebels," but due to superpower intervention, they fell short of an actual invasion each time. The Imperium of Deustchland was overthrown after the bloody and brutal Imperium-Weimar Civil War, a limited descriptive name for a world war that raged on land and in the skies for five years. After becoming unified in a coalition goverment with moderates, the Free Weimar Republic renamed itself the New Weimar Republic.
It is feared the New Weimar Republic will become a Soviet ally and a Communist state, a member of the Kharkov Pact.

Foreign Relations
The Republic relations between the Democratic Federation and the Soviet Union, have been called "The Sweet Talking Two method." The coalition's ambassador to the Soviet union is a Communist and to the Democratic Federation, a Conservative Democrat, as it relies upon both states' support to keep it from being invaded by the GGR.
It trades with the Japanese Empire and Tawhid; all of its goods are now made from Soviet imported steel, which it sells off cheaply. It is feared that if it continues like this it will be either destroyed by the GGR or incorporated into the Soviet bloc.

The New Weimar Volksmarine consists of donated Soviet warships crewed by 'volunteers' from the Red Space Forces and New Weimar conscripts.
New Weimar military forces use almost exclusively Soviet-made military hardware, and is dependent on the vast majority of munitions and fuel from their Soviet allies. However, New Weimar has a slowly burgeoning military infrastructure, producing indigeonous designs and licensed Soviet armaments.
