Overview
The New Weimar Volksmarine have been modelled heavily upon the Red Space Forces, whilst drawing some of German spacefaring heritage into the mix of its doctrine; a practice frowned upon by Soviet militarists.
Founded
The Volksmarine was founded on the 24th of October, arising from the need of space defence from German encroachment and system-wide defence.
Recruitment
Soviet Advisor-controlled academies across the Republic train the next generations of patriotic volunteers for the Volksmarine.

Formations
The Volksmarine maintains several Fleet formation of modular strength and size. Organized bellow the Fleet organization are Battlegroups, which form the battle formations of the Volksmarine.
Naval Defence Command
The Naval Defence Command comprises of all the arms of the Volksmarine, including Aerospace Aviation, marine units, Fleets, independent Battlegroups and specialist units. Such units are formed into multi-battlegroup fronts that conduct military operations that can span, theoretically, a dozen systems, under the command of a the Admiral of the Fleet.
Fleet
A Fleet, commanded by a Fleet Admiral, consists of at least three battlegroups and additional squadrons. Fleets are commanded by the most competent and senior Admirals, often officially ranked as Fleet Admirals.
Battlegroup
A Battlegroup comprises of at least 4 squadrons, and often is the primary supporting Fleet element for ground actions. A Battlegroup is commanded by a Admiral.
Squadron
A Volksmarine Squadron is commanded by an Vice Admiral, and can number from fourteen to sixty warships in total, of varying tonnage and class. There are no specialist squadrons within the Volksmarine, preferring a combined arms approach to space warfare.
Line
A Volksmarine Line comprises as little as one ship or as many as twenty, forming the building block of larger task forces and fleets, commanded by a Line Captain. Specialist Lines can vary widely, with Recon Lines, Interception Lines, Attack Lines, etc.
