Overview

The Waffen-SS (German: "Armed SS", or "Weapons SS") was the combat arm of the Schutzstaffel ("Protective Squadron") or SS, an organ of the Nazi Party. The Waffen-SS saw action throughout World War II and the First Scinfaxi War, earning extensive honours and renown for their steadfastness and unrelenting discipline. It was the Fuhrer's will that the Waffen-SS never be integrated into the Army: they were to remain the armed wing of the Party and serve the Fuhrer as a reliable combat force alongside the Wehrmacht.

History

Founded

The origins of the Waffen-SS can be traced to the 120 man group under the command of Josef 'Sepp' Dietrich, which formed Sonderkommando Berlin. It's birth into a combat formation however, is traced to the SS-Verfügungstruppe or SS-VT, which was formed to be a specialist military force under the Fuhrer's command.

In 1936 Heinrich Himmler selected former Lieutenant General Paul Hausser to be Inspector of the SS-VT with the rank of Brigadefuhrer, and he set about transforming the SS-VT into a credible military force that was a match for the Heer. Whilst it would not match the Heer in terms of numerical strength, it would go onto being an elite arm of the Reich, a shining example of Aryan military prowess, National Socialism and a reliable political statement to the other nations of Germany's military power.

With the colonization of Germania, and subsequent founding of an interstellar Greater German Reich, the Waffen-SS would slowly grow its own independent naval and aerospace forces. Already, the Waffen-SS could boast its own Fallschirmjäger (Paratrooper) unit, which would go onto be the first of dozens of such units.

Recruitment

Entry requirements into the Waffen-SS are exacting and strict; all SS officers must be of at least 5 foot 11 inchs, and of Aryan heritage.

Doctrine

The Waffen-SS strictly engage in mobile warfare, using swift assaults and ruthless tactics to defeat it's opponents. The result of this doctrine is non-attritional warfare, but nevertheless high casualties due to the Waffen-SS's lightning and relentless assaults, as well as it's superiority complex that dominates its ideological indoctrination and training programmes.

Ranks and Insignia

The Waffen-SS maintains its own ranking system to distinguish itself from the Wehrmacht, more specifically the Heer. It was granted the honour of utilizing 'führer' in it's titles and ranks, a sign of favour from the Fuhrer and successive Fuhrers over the Reich's history.

Sturmflotte

Sturmflotte (English: Storm Fleet) are permenant multirole commands differing from Kriegsmarine Battle Fleets in striking capability and force projection, supported by significant sustainment elements and logistics ships. They are named so after the Waffen-SS's aggressive doctrines and the honourary entitlement of 'sturm' to Waffen-SS units and ranks.

Flottegruppe

A Flottegruppe (English: Fleet Group) consists of two or more Flotillas for administrative purposes, whilst each attending Squadron is placed under the command of the commanding officer - a Flottegruppenführer.

Flotilla

A German Flotilla is commanded by an Flottegruppenführer, and can number from two squadrons to include a total of fifty warships in total, of varying tonnage and class. Flotillas are largely administrative commands over Squadrons and the myriad of logistical and support units that supply them.

Schwadron

A Führermarine Schwadron (English: Squadron) operates from four to eighteen ships, commanded by a Obersflotteführer.

  • Corvette Squadron
  • Cruiser Squadron
  • Assault Squadron
  • Multirole Squadron

Ship Command

A German Ship Command is the entire command structure of a warship from the size of a corvette to the largest capital ship. This is the lowest command in Führermarine, enabling greater autonomy for deep space patrols and commerce raiding. A Ship Command can be commanded Oberstkapitänführer to an Admiralführer.

Main Battle Tank

Kampf.Pz. 22 Ausf.D Tiger 8 |~3,000| Realization of advanced German tank development and designing, the Tiger 8 is believed to be unbeatable by any current or near future ground or air weapons, armed with a 120mm railgun.

Kampf.Pz. 20 Ausf.B Leopard 3 |~5,000| Named in homage to a successful tank during World War Two and relatively successful during the First Scinfaxi War, the Leopard 3 tank is the staple unit of the Wehrmacht's Heer and some units of the Waffen-SS, armed with a 120mm railgun.

Armoured Personnel Carrier

Pz.GkW. 445 Panther |~1,000| An 8x8 modular fighting vehicle, the Panther is the first of the fruits of the HStZ and the modernization scheme for the Heer and Waffen-SS.

Pz.GkW. 300 Jaguar |~24,000| A 8x8 armoured combat vehicle, the Jaguar is deployed to Grenadier units in the Waffen-SS. They are expected to be upgraded to accomodate the HStZ program and enhancements.

Infantry Fighting Vehicle

SPz. 22 Cougar |~20,000| A tracked infantry fighting vehicle, the SPz. 22 Cougar is in service within the Panzergrenadier and Panzer units of the Wehrmacht.

P.Kpfw. 600 Aufklarer |~4,000| Tracked and fully automated Infantry fighting vehicle. One of the many attempts to create a multipurpose unit that relies completely on Artificial Intelligence(A.I). The P.Kpfw. Aufklarer's design allows for multiple modifications for different roles. For example, it can be armed with 50mm GKF-M Grenade-launcher-Machinegun. And 12,50mm MG182 Anti-Air machinegun to support it's assigned squad. And can carry supplies for the soldiers. Aufklarer can also be used for scouting and mine-clearing missions. As efficient and advanced as it is, it's price limits its numbers. For political, and Waffen-SS's needs to increase the range and speed of it's Shock Troops. Waffen-SS receives much higher numbers than the regular Wehrmacht.

Submachine Gun

Maschinenpistol 168 - This is probaly one of the few relics that have been preserved from the past. Developed further and added components have rendered this weapon unrecognizable when compared to the most known weapon of it's time, the MP40. MP168 is the most common SMG of the frontline troops when fighting in urban envirovement, and even outside it. And is considered to be the best possible Submachine Gun in the whole world. The unmatchable accuracy of it's class, and it's reliability has secured it's place in the gears of war of The Third Reich for centuries to come.

Fulch N-220. This SMG was created for back-line duties, vehicle crews, guncrews, Space-Ship security troops, and for Special Forces. It's also widely used in frontline troops due to it's good clip size and fast fire-rate. Also preferred in the Special Forces due to it's small size and weight. It's accuracy (250m tops) is the downside that narrows it's use to Urban only on the frontlines, anywhere else, except in dense forests, its worthless.

MsG-4 - This new design, created by the new Weapons Manufacturing Company Wünch & Werner(W&W), an attempt to competite with the currently favoured MP168. This weapon uses the devastating .50 Caliber. The highly advanced Anti-Recoil system allows for nonstop automatic fire without losing accuracy. The weapon utilizes the use of Drum-Clip, that is located on top of the weapon. This design idea is known for being confusing at first for the troops to use, but after getting used to it, it is recognized to be rather efficient. Allowing for a fast clip switching when in combat situation. The weapon is only outmatched by the MP168 in clip size and weight.

Assault Rifle

Sturmgewehr 2-55

GAU-70 - Newer Assault Rifle being released, discussions about wether or not should it replace the currently used HKM-48 Assault Rifle entirely, or just on Waffen-SS. This weapon Uses Bull-up styled magazine placement. 7,45mm barrel. Common Clip size is 75 rounds. Can be attached with Bayonet, 3-shot CC(Close Combat)- Shotgun, or 40mm S422VgM Multipurpose Grenade Launcher.

HKM-48 - Common assault rifle in the Wehrmacht and Waffen-SS. Created for multiple purposes, varying from vehicle crews' personal protecton, to the behind-the-lines Commandos. Is commonly used in the frontline troops due to it's reliability and simple and familiar design and use. Uses regular forward-based clip placement. 6,70mm barrel. Clip size may vary due to it's multi-purpose role. Can be attached with Mk 14 Mod 2 Grenade Launcher.

Shotgun

Volkswaffengewehr 4

Maschinengewehr Flinte 14 (MGF 14) - Machinegun-shotgun of the German Army. The devastating shotgun with drum-clip size of 50 Shells is feared amongst the opposing forces. MGF 14 has almost no recoil, and is known to keep without jamming even when shoving a half a forest in it (figuratively). MGF 14 also utilizes the use of special munition, ranging from anti-tank-, High-Explosive-, and homing-rounds to the mini-shrapnel grenades.

Machine Gun

Maschinengewehr 89

GfgZ 804 "Fünchtz" Another product by Wünch & Werner. Lightweight machinegun with many customization possibilities, usually armed with Target-Tracking Sights. For logistical reasons the barrel size remains at 7.45mm. Accurate up to 1000mm.

Sniper Rifle

Gewehr 2-50 Sniper Rifle

Gewehr 740 Anti-Materia rifle. Capable of taking out both Armoured Vehicles and personnel alike.

"Black Eagle" H-40. Sniper Rifle. Feared throught the Galaxy in the hands of skilled German Marksman. Currently Favoured by the top snipers of the Third Reich's Military.

Anti-Personnel Explosive

Anti-Tank Explosive

Stürmaugen FG Portable Anti-Tank Railgun, this innovative weapon yet-to-be copied by the opposing forces, has proven to be extremely effective and devastating weapon in skilled hands. With Barrel of 24mm, this weapon is capable of busting throught the strongest armour in the world, especially when fired from close-range. The Stürmaugen FG can bust throught even the greatest behemoths of the Sovjet army, and the strongest armour of the DF tanks, like a bullet throught paper. It is even capable of bringing down air targets due to it's extremely fast projectiles.

Panzerknacker H. Single-shot Rocket Launcher. Mass producted and used on both Wehrmacht and Waffen-SS alike. Highly efficient, capable of damaging even the heaviest and most armoured known tanks currently exicting amongst the opposing forces of The Third Reich.

LWP Missile Launcher. Anti-Tank design that launches quided missiles. Heavy-Duty Anti-Tank system, which when used on any known tanks known to Third Reich, utterly destroys it's target.
